Pakistan to become a hub for investment by Spanish superstore ‘Condis’


KARACHI: ‘ Condis ’, an established Spanish superstore plans on investing up to $1 billion in Pakistan.

Veteran journalist Azfar Bukhari played host to Condis Supermarket’s six-member delegation. The delegation was in Pakistan for 4 days and visited Multan, Rawalpindi, Jhelum and Islamabad. The purpose of the visit was for them to explore the possibility of launching in Pakistan.   condis-superstore

The delegation was headed by the Director Expansion Mr. Jose Manuel Castellano who said that Condis is looking forward to importing their line in Pakistan and are also interested in exporting Pakistani products to Spain for their vast distribution network. He said, “Pakistan is as safe as any other country in the world.”

Mr. Fernando Giron, The Spanish Deputy Ambassador was of the view that Pakistan has a huge potential for foreign investment and that there is no pressing concern with regards to security. He also said that through such investments the existing relations between the two countries will be strengthened.

Given that security concerns of investing in Pakistan have now been minimized, Coca Cola and Pepsi Co are also looking forward to investing 1.4 billion in Pakistan.
