This Pakistani gamer is Esports player of the year

It is quite unlikely that you are not aware of Arslan Ash Siddique at this point. He was the only player to have won in the EVO Championship Japan as well as its American counterpart in the same year.

After facing visa issues to participate and playing the international tournament while being sick it would not be wrong to conclude that Ash fought against all odds to bring Pakistan on the map of esports. ESPN has now awarded him as the best player of 2019.

He defeated Jae-Min “Knee” bae in Japan in January of this year but still believed that he might not be the best player in Pakistan proving that there is a lot of talent in the country that deserves to be recognised. His continued success led Red Bull to name him one of their Red Bull Athletes.

According to the Twitter poll, 60% of fans voted for Arslan as well.

The runner up was the Jay “sinatraa” Wo who was named Overwatch League MVP for 2019 and had led the San Francisco Shock to a championship and Team USA to win a gold medal.

The nominees included the 16-year-old, Kyle “Bugha” Giersdor and the first-ever woman to have not only won the Hearthstone Grandmasters Global Finals but any Blizzard global title, Xiaomeng “Liooon” Li.
